DENVER – This week, Ready Colorado signed onto a joint statement in opposition to House Bill 24-1363. The bill, which has garnered over 40,000 emails in opposition, would allow local districts to shutter charter schools without consideration of academic outcomes, restrict the flexibility of charter schools to meet the needs of their students, and narrow the path for charter schools to expand or be renewed.

“House Bill 24-1363 unwinds decades of bipartisan work on expanding charter schools in Colorado,” said Brenda Dickhoner, President and CEO of Ready Colorado. “Ready Colorado stands with our charter school students and families, alongside a broad coalition of organizations from across the state, in opposing the bill.”
